Hello all and happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and is enjoying the fall season which is now upon us! This weekend for the Bessettes was F-U-L-L! It was the wedding weekend to one of our closest high school friends, Libby!

Libby and Jackie (and Danny too - but he was a year older) met in high school at Bishop Dennis J. O'Connell High School - an incredibly special school (more on that later). Both of us girls were big into getting to know people, participating in as many school activities as possible and being a smiling face in their class of 2003!!! It was senior year they both were elected to the School Student Council Advisory Board (SCA). A year full of school service, organizing, motivating, decorating, meeting and helping students.....the immense joy the two of us experienced from that year connected us to each other forever. But what cemented our freindship?? The LOVE of organizing (including the largest high school fundraiser for CF SUPERDANCE)! We used every excuse to get to Staples and buy more supplies, to stay late on Fridays and clean the SCA office, write motivational quotes, and plan our to do lists. We were a-types, who love to organize, drink diet coke, chat loud and giggle even louder....we were loving it all and especially our time togehter.

The next phase in life were our college years. Both of us found those days new and exciting, yet stale and frustrating! We had our fun and had our challeneges. Often emails from one college inbox to another referenced our "good ole high school days" and remembered as we moved forward reluctantly at times, we still had each other. In one of my lowest points I remember Libby showing up at my college townhouse front door offering bannana bread to my tear stained face. She is the kind of person who will be there for you ....no matter what - and that is a true gift.

Time marched on and as lives do, they got BUSY.....like days to weeks to months to years, before you even know it! However, Libby and I have had the blessing of growing together and continuing to be part of each new phase. I was able to introduce her to a new professional chapter, Libby leads our fundraising for Danny's future transplant, and maybe not as much as we would like but many a dinner to disect life, dream, worry, reassure each other and remember that our paths may wind, get cloudy or stop at a fork - but no matter what we have dedicated ourselves as each other's cheerleaders (the type that has shown up at the hospital in a 30 minute notice no question and held me.....the kind you can't live without).

For both Libby and I, a life long dream has been for a strong marriage and a future family. We have dreamt of "having it all" and whatever that means - but most importantly for a geniune partnership. A life long person to journey with you, to share a last name and to grow old with....true love.

In 2010 I was blessed to start my dream....and Libby was there.

This weekend - Libby's dream came true and I was able to stand with her.

The rehearsal dinner, the girly time pre-wedding to primp, the beautiful Catholic cermony (I love that we both said the same vows as we took this next step in our lives and our faith), the FANTASTIC reception - southern cuisine and ALL- was incredible. However the moments that are truly engraved on my heart are those that Libby looked and me and said - "it's here, I can't beleive it"! To see all the thought she put into her day and watching it through her eyes.....that was magical. And to top it all off the romance that surrounded Danny and I, time with some of my favorite friends from high school and the spouses I have been honored to have become my friends too, and spending time with my parents while they joined to tosat too.....I took stock of my life - and I have been blessed.
